It is importatnt to understand what your market is when offering a service online.
For example many people, in most trades, use trade terminology! This is not the kind of terminology that the end-user would use and that in it's self makes SEO more difficult for the average Joe to do their own SEO campaign.
Ontology Finder from GoRank is a great tool to find out what the keywords are that you mabe should consider ASWELL as the trade terminology. It is also prudent to find out the key phrases your more successful competetors are using.
Now, down to the point of this thread...
Creating a good web page title is down to good key phrase placement. Take this fictional website title for example:
Antique Door Knockers, Door Bells, Brass Door Chimes from The Antique PeopleAs you can see, from the outset - this looks like a reasonable website title. However, Look at this one:
Antique Brass Door Knockers, Antique Door Bells & Chimes - The Antique PeopleThis looks gramatically better, has covered all angles and is more key phrase ritch.
You can use this same technique when writing description paragraphs and even articles. Here's a fictional description example:
Original:
Here at The Antique People we offer a wide selection of door knockers, chimes and bells.Better:
The Antique People specialise in brass antique door knockers. We are a leading supplier of brass door bells & antique door chimes. Here we have taken all the keywords and put them in a better
proximity, promenance & density arrangement to maximise their impact on Google & other search engines.
Try it out on your website... Only a few small changes might make a huge difference to your SERPS.
